This project centered on the restoration of the NC Mutual Legacy Building, a prominent high-rise landmark in downtown Durham. The scope included the repair of vertical façade areas exhibiting spalling and delamination, with all concrete finishes meticulously matched to the existing exposed aggregate panels. Work also involved the removal and replacement of pre-cast-to-pre-cast sealant joints and window perimeter sealant joints to restore proper building envelope performance.
Following these repairs, the entire façade was cleaned and coated with a hydrophobic protective system, specified in a color that enhanced the building’s appearance while ensuring long-term durability. The completed restoration preserved the structural integrity of this historic property and elevated its aesthetic presence on the city skyline.
